Kylie decorated in Post It Tabs

OMG!~!! This is Darlene's boy and I 'liberated' it from our friendly Facebook exchange. I don't think she was dressing him for the Doggie Blog Halloween Costume Parade - I think Kylie's been playing in her office supplies - check out his feet - this is hilarious!!!!

Costume Event

Lia: THIS STINKS! How come we're not getting store bought costumes?

Zoe: Because Mommy says it's a lean/green year so she wanted to be 'inventive'. By the way, those are lovely chin straps and tossle you've got there.

Lia: Hey - I may be wearing a purse, but you wouldn't catch me dead in a Westborn Market babushka!.

Zoe: You win.

I HATE HATE HATE THIS!

Zoe - What?

Lia: How dark it is at 6:45 in the evening. This SUCKS! When does that clock thing happen?

Zoe: WHAT? What are you talking about?
.
Lia: You know: when the clock falls off the wall!

Zoe: OMG - I hate you. The CLOCK doesn't fall off the wall. Time changes on Halloween nite. The time 'falls back' one hour.
.
Lia: Good! Then it will be daylight in the evening again.
.
Zoe: Sorry, Oh Logical One...it'll last for maybe a week - then darkness again for the rest of the winter.

Lia: Ok - then what's THAT? Isn't that the SUN coming from our deck?
.
Zoe: No. For mommy to see you, she bought a million watt spot light to watch you pee in the dark.
.
Lia: Well...I still hate this.

Zoe: I frankly don't know how you got this one right, but most of us would agree with you.

Fall - Closed the Ponds - Dogs at Play

Lia: How come Mommy didn't put pics of Kinsey by himself on here?
.
Zoe: She put them on Facebook today.
.
Lia: Why? What's Facebook? Is it pictures of your face?
Is that why this last picture of me isn't going in a FACEbook?
.
Zoe: (...go roll in something...)

Riding Shotgun

* * * * *

Actually - in the morning when we're on our way to Doggie Daycare, Zoe has her back paws planted on the edge of the back bench seat and her front paws on the counsole between the two front bucket seats.

I regret I didn't have the FLIP camera with me so that you could see Zoe look ahead at the car in front of us and then to the right and down at the oncoming freeway traffic below and whining. I think she was truly concerned that the car in front of us needed to MOVE so that we could get way from those oncoming headlights. They can be scarey, you know.

Read...send a few bucks...build a Shelter...feel good

* * * * *
..Because you just may not know about this woman....

Here: Go read about Bernie Berlin - and how she runs her animal rescue. High Standards...High Scruples...people whom we need many many more of relative to saving animal's lives. She gets into more stuff in a week than I can get to in six months! Really cool lady!
And you can see what she's up to on my Facebook page also.

BTW - I won the bid last year for the Dog Art Book on ebay - see pic above: left side of desk beneath map on wall (click on image for better view) - incredible art of doggies and I have it displayed on an easel - well...regardless...so cool stuff: HONEST!

SHOUT OUT TO ALL ARTISTS – 2009 EBAY ART AUCTION SIGN UP INFO!
“There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home.” ~ Dorothy to Toto, in Oz

We are SO CLOSE to being able to finish our new shelter building at A Place to Bark that the dogs are ready to lay claim to their “bedrooms”!

To help to get us the rest of the way there, A Place to Bark is teaming up with eBay Good Works (the charitable giving arm of Ebay) to host our annual EBAY ART AUCTION! During the entire month of November, a portion of the proceeds (decided by the artist) of the sale of each piece of artwork from participating artists will be donated to A Place to Bark. Your donations, of course, are entirely tax deductible.

The beauty of eBay Good Works is that it makes it so incredibly easy for every artist to participate – and to do so in a way where they are completely in control of how big a portion of the proceeds of the sale of their artwork is donated to A Place to Bark.

Our goal is to raise $25,000, which is enough money to allow us to finish the shelter before winter sets in – and WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DO THAT! If you are an artist and would like to help raise desperately needed funds for A Place to Bark by being a part of the Art Auction, please email us at: aplacetobark2009@gmail.com and we will send you all the details you will need to participate.

Above is a short video of the initial building phase of the shelter. Now that the shell of the building is up, we need your help to finish it!Thanks in advance for your interest and participation! So far in 2009, we’ve rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed more than 500 dogs and cats who would otherwise be put down - and the numbers keep climbing! Now you can be a part of continuing the crusade to fulfill the dream of a truly no-kill world! Thank you for your support!

Lia and Zoe: Mommy told us sometimes our blog has to be about giving back. We may demand cookies for dinner - or - soft beds to snooze upon...but we were once homeless and thank God someone helped pay for us until Mommy came to get us. So: this month we're giving up all treats, rawhides, toys to unstuff - Mommy's giving up all fancy coffees and we're donating it to A Place to Bark to help finish the shelter. We'll get back to funny pics and stories next week.

Spoiled rotten and sassy to boot!

* * *

Now I ask you:
Wouldn't you rather have cookies for dinner?

Sweet Sandy Allen

Lia: Who's that? Why didn't I meet her?

Zoe: ...sigh. Her name is Sandy. She belongs to a lady that Mommy works with. The lady has horsies too.

Lia: Why does she have three names?

Zoe: Look at that beautiful face: She's Sweet - and her name is Sandy Allen.

Lia: Is Allen her middle name? What's her last name? When will we meet her?

Zoe: I'm not answering your dumb questions. Look how beautiful she is. She hurt her back leg and hind quarters chasing a woodchuck....uhhh....groundhog. Uhhh...looks like a big fat squirrel but they stay on the ground.

Lia: Will she be ok? Because some of us need to chase something or our days are pretty much boring as blazes!
Zoe: She'll be having surgery but she's only 5 and her prognosis is that she'll recover and be able to 'chase' once again.
.
Lia: Excellent. Then I can meet her and we'll see who catches something first.
.
Zoe: (...ya...whatever....) Welcome to the blog, Sandy. Feel Better Soon!!!

Annie ~

Lia: Whoa! What is she?

Zoe: Tibetian Terrier - a puppy. Looks like a little pirate, I think.

Lia: Sour grapes. You just don't like any terriers cuter than you....and she's pretty darned cute in my opinion.

Zoe: Nobody asked for your vote....

via daily puppy
Lia: Hummmm....a little jealous I think.
.
Zoe: Not even close. And did anyone ever tell you that you look like a boy dog in many ways?
.
Lia: I'm just energetic and fit..and muscular in all the right places. You look like that fuzzy teddy bear puppy - that's all you got.
.
Zoe: (...ya, but it works....!...)

Zoe: Then we come in and we get a 'chewie' from Mommy....

Zoe: Yep...and THEN...we find that perfect spot to munch on our chewie and watch what's going on outside...

Mommy: and it's like - naptime! It's a perfect Sunday morning!
.
Zoe: (...until Lia see's a squirrel and we have to start this all over again...)
